This is a tandem kayak made by Ocean Kayak. It can also be used as a single seater. My first impressions are that I really like this kayak. It is as much or more stable than my Trident and faster if you have two people. Not only that, but surprisingly, from the back seat the Malibu Two is exceptionally maneuverable! I can almost turn the whole kayak around while sitting still in one single stroke! Neither the Scrambler nor the Trident can do that. Did I mention it was comfortable? Your butt deserves a nice wide ride like this one. Even though it’s wide, the ride doesn’t feel rough like the Scrambler but smooth and slick.

I am also amazed at how well it tracks, even in wind. I am never fighting to stay on course (unlike the Trident which likes to turn into the wind). The only drawback is that it does not come with built in hatches and does not have any designated space for rod holders and such. If you use your creativity though, I’m sure you can figure out the solution to these issues. I give the Malibu Two XL 4.8 stars out of 5, highly recommended if you are looking for a tandem kayak. Note that this kayak, although a tandem, is still shorter and lighter than my Trident. I am considering buying one this summer if I find anyone who wants to go fishing with me!
